Been a while since I've logged on.
Had a pretty CRAZY Holiday season with my job and all. My boss was fired so I had to train a new one... of course they looked over promoting me... again :| Everyone agreed that I should have gotten the promotion... but you know how it is, hard work, loyalty, and dedication doesn't pay off very often.
The one plus is my new boss is a member to the 501st. I meet him at the 2003 Comic Con. So now there are 4 members at my workplace... pretty crazy.
Yesterday I did get somewhat of a promotion... I am the new Asst. Team Leader for our Task Force/Crisis Response Team for the San Diego and L. A. area. Of course, there is not pay differential... just something more to add on my resume for PD.
Six weeks off of school was VERY nice. Of course I worked the entire time but not having any homework was a relief. But now I start the whole dreaded cycle again. At least I have survived 2 weeks... only 16 more to go! :-D
The Star Wars fan film I've been involved in is sooooo close to being completed. The running time is 150 min. Most likely it is being split into two different films. Once being 60 min. and the second into 90 min. We have just one more scene... which happens to be the BIGGEST of all to film. Originally we were going to shoot it at a studio in LA but we now have someone in SD who will be building the 25' high, 35' wide green screen set. The schedule is to shoot the climatic battle on March 27. We have a LOT of people showing up for it. Trying to get everyone's schedule not to conflict was the hardest. We have a few coming from LA for the filming. It's gonna be great! |

OC FIGHTS!!!
For those who don't know, OC is kinda like mace... just a LOT stronger... the stuff cops carry.
We're sitting around outside in a cove really bored and start shooting mace at each other. I hit one coworker right in the face LOL! When he shot back (of course he couldn't see) I turned my back just in time and just got some minor mist from the air. Just enough to get a little red-eyed and cough some.
We're a little crazy when left to our own miens... welcome to the world of the easily amused :-P |

Of course, we left after the trailer and went into the next theatre to watch it again! :-P
I can't wait for this movie to come out! :-D |

I have a hook up at a local theatre for the teaser poster that's being set up tonight. :-D I saw a pic of it online... wasn't that impressive... but whatever... it's Star Wars.

| What a long week... |
[Oct. 29th, 2004|01:06 am] |

| | good | ] | I haven’t been online in over a week. I’ve been sooo busy with work… and midterms.
Let’s see, last week I worked 82… yes 82!! Hours… AND had midterms… AND got A’s. How’d I do it? I’m not sure… “Sometimes I even amaze myself.” :-P No, actually, it’s call 1-2 hours of sleep a night! I get off work at 10 PM and then sometimes have to go back at 2 or 3 AM due to us having a Fire Watch. Then I go to class for a few hours, then work my regular 10 hour shift, then get a little sleep, and then start the whole freakin’ cycle again. On Wednesday, 20 October, it was a freaking CRAZY day! I had been working on the deployment for Security for the grand opening of Wal-Mart at my center for two weeks previous and it finally opened on the 20th. Everything went very smooth and was mostly a success… except for the weather. It was POURING rain all day! I worked from 4 AM until 10:30 PM that day and only once did the rain stop. I swear people drive the worst when it’s raining. I was hit by a car twice that day… talk about bad luck. I wasn’t injured at all, but one of the cars was damaged. I was walking with a friend and this lady hits the gas and in the rain she couldn’t see me and hit me dead on! Once again I was lucky not to have been hurt at all. Later that day a buddy of mine and I were sitting in the patrol car and this random old guy drops down in the middle of the road in front of us. We jumped out and were thinking it was some joke. When we walked up to him we saw he wasn’t breathing and was turning blue. I checked his pulse and couldn’t find it so we started CPR. People around were calling 911. We couldn’t use the AED (heart jump-starter) due to the massive amount of rain falling on us and the guy was laying in an inch of water. We would have gotten shocked too. I was doing CPR on the guy for about 3 minutes until the paramedics got there. When they were there he still wasn’t breathing. They did a bunch of stuff to him in the ambulance. My buddy was flipping out thinking he was dead. It didn’t really bother me cause I knew we both did everything we could. But it didn’t matter cause all of a sudden the guy started breathing. The ambulance took off and took him to the hospital. The next day we found out he was fine and back at home. :-) Sunday I had off so I saw Shark Tale… pretty funny… like Finding Nemo. Working all those hours have paid off though… I got my paycheck today! Nice to have an extra THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! WEEEEEE!!! I got a few new DVDs also: American History X The Passion Man on Fire Hellboy Tigerland Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Epic Series
I’ve got my weekend cut out for me ;-)
Oh yes, and how ‘bout those Boston Red Sox! Rock On! |

| | America! F**k Yeah! | ] | 3,720 to 1… that’s the odds that my friend Jay was saying was going to be our chances of surviving the trip home last night. Of course I proved him wrong… Never tell me the odds. :-P We were in LA until Midnight with some friends watching Star Wars movie and what not. It was a blast. When we left, it was sprinkling rain. I got to my car and realized Jay left the back window down. Leaving a window down is bad… but then having it rain… grrrrrrr. At least nobody realized I have more than $100 in DVDs in my back seat and took them… they’re safe now. As soon as we got on the freeway, it was pouring rain! I haven’t seen rain like that in a loooong time. We were going about 40-50 mph most of the way. When we got to Irvine, I stopped to get gas. When I got out the ground was more than an inch deep in water. It was a pretty crazy drive back. When we reached Oceanside there wasn’t any rain at all… it stayed the same until we got back. The normal 2-hour drive was more than 3.5 hours! So I didn’t get to sleep until 4am. No worries… the fun we had was well worth the trip. Hopefully we’ll be going back for an ROTJ showing in a few weeks.
I saw Team America: World Police again today! I saw it on Friday morning before work but had to see it again. It’s hysterical! I don’t recommend it though if you take offense to language or sexual humor. Of course there is a lot of that as it’s made by the same guys who make South Park. The songs throughout the movie are GREAT! Be sure to stay through the credits. There is an extra song by Li Kim Jon about Alic Baldwin. It’s just a bunch of silly stuff that will have you in tears laughing if you leave your serious side at the door.
Gary: A flying limousine? Now I’ve seen everything. Spottiswoode: Have you seen a man eat his own head? Gary: No. Spottiswoode: Then you haven’t seen everything. And neither have we!
:-P |

| | excited | ] | I haven’t updated in quite a while… no point… no one posts :-P
Let’s see, what’s new…
Not really much… I had some fun on Tuesday night. My trainee, Jason, and I got a call about 2 drunk Hispanic juveniles out in a parking lot. When we got there, we saw a 16 y/o Hispanic guy and chick stumbling about. When we went to talk to them, they could not speak clear and were drooling all over. I asked the guy what they were doing and he hands me a pic of him and some friends. I’m thinking, “WTF? These guys are totally wasted.” The guy then lowers his head and runs into me, grabs me and then tries to head-butt me. Jason and I drop him and cuff him. Then the chick jumps on Jason and bites his uniform… luckily she missed biting his chest. So I grab her and cuff her too. After we bring them back to our office and hold them there until PD arrives. The guy passes out for about 10 min. and then wakes up and vomits ALL OVER MY FREAKING OFFICE FLOOR!!! Ya, that REALLY pissed me off. The chick is yelling and screaming none stop in Spanish and English. Minutes before PD arrives, she passes out too… only difference is that when PD gets there, she’s not waking up. We called an ambulance. Turns out she had alcohol poisoning. Between the little girls and guy they drank an entire bottle of 151. :-O Holly Crap! That’s some hard core liquor. She was in a comma for 2 days at the hospital.
So ya… that was the excitement for the week.
And onto the brighter side of life...
Tomorrow I’m going to LA again to a friend of mine’s house. A bunch of Star Wars fans are watching The Empire Strikes Back at his home theatre. I’m looking forward to it :-)
I got the Darth Sidious and Clone Trooper Unleashed today! I also got a few new DVDs: Walking Tall Underworld Extended Edition (ROCKS!) RoboCop Triolgy and FINALLY... The Godfather Trilogy :-D |

| | bouncy | ] | We had a bomb threat today at my center today. It was more of a bomb threat drill... but nobody knew except the three of us that put the whole operation together. We wanted everyone to think it was real and see how they would respond. I made 2 fake looking bombs and hid them in the parking structures. We wanted to see if the patrol officers were really paying attention for suspicious packages. It took quite a while for the first one to be found. It was hidden in a bag and placed by an elevator... didn't fly over too well for the officers not seeing it very fast. The second one was in the middle of a parking structure... out in the open... for everyone to see. The person that checked the area said he didn't see anything. Yay... that went over really well too. Then to make things better, I had a friend come in and be the reported person to have left the package. There was a description given... very good one at that... and it took some time for anyone to notice him running around with a red stick of dynamite hanging out of his pocket! Yeah... after it was all over and we had all the officers involved come back to the office, we told them that it was a drill. Some of them caught on that it was a drill as it played out. A lot of people were ripped a new one when they were told that they walked past the package or person running and did not notice. I thought it was an fun expiriment... just hopefully a real bomb won't be placed there in the near future... :|
My Defense Tactics class was canceled today... grrrrr.... I had being at school extra time waiting for my next class and then having it be canceled. >:(
After my firearms course tomorrow morning... I HAVE 3 WHOLE DAYS OFF!!! YAY!!! What will I do with myself?... hmmm... |

| | bouncy | ] | I had an interesting day yesterday. Busiest day I've had in a looooong time at work. I was going to only work 5 hours as I've put in a lot of overtime with week, but I ended up working the whole 10 hours shift.
The most exciting thing that happened was to near fight with the Kingpin... you know... from the comic books. Yes, there was this 6'6" 300+ lbs. bald white guy that came looking for someone in a jewelery store that owed him money. I got there with a few of my Officers and asked him what was going on. He gets in my face and starts threatening me. I'm kinda tall... but this guy dwarfed me. I ask him to leave and deal with the guy that owes him money somewhere else but not at my workplace. He yells, "F**k you!" really loud so everyone can hear him. My response... "Um... no!" That got a laugh from about 15 people watching us deal with this guy. It made him more pissed though... duh. The guy didn't really want to fight as he was all mouth but no action and he ended up finally leaving. :)
Tonight was fun... I went to the Padre game... and we won 5-4! :O We'll have to see if we can get the wild card. I doubt it up it would be really cool.
I get to start training next Saturday for the next SW Fan Film I will be participating in. The director's goal is to have the best fan film fight scene. Shouldn't be too hard as many people who are working in the film are very talented in Martial Arts. It's going to be very fun. I haven't touched a saber since Comic Con :-P |

| | sleepy | ] | I LOVE THE NEW STAR WARS DVDs :-D
I watch The Empire Strikes Back last night... I like the new version of Vader talking to the Emperor. The Emperor looks a lot better and the new dialog is cool. Having Boba Fett's voice change was a surprise... but it was still really cool.
One thing that I liked... I woke up the night I got the DVDs at 2 am and thought, "hey, wasn't there a rumor that Hayden replaced Shaw at the end of ROTJ as Anakin?" Then I remember Rick MaCallum denying it and saying he never even heard a rumor of it. So, to but any rumor at ease, I put in ROTJ and watched the end. And guess what... Hayden was there as the ghost of Anakin! I really thought that was cool.
Anyways... I got called into work today. It's my day off so I wasn't too thrilled but went in anyways (I'd better get that promotion...grrr... :-P). Nothing really happened. I am sooo exhausted from staying up really late the last couple of nights watching all the SW movies and Special Features. The weekend is looking really good. :) |

Next I need to get Battle Front for PS2...

| I HATE RUNNING!!! |
[Sep. 20th, 2004|11:35 pm] |
... not my favorite thing to do to say the least bit.
Been a looong day... starting at 7 AM in the morning (people should never be up that early). I went through one hour of PT before getting ready for class. Up to and during a run I dread it. But when it is finally over, I'm glad I did it... makes me feel better. I had class then work. 10 hours shifts can really start to drag... but it's finally over. Nothing really worth talking about happened. I was on bike patrol with my Captain. We caught some guy hiding in a car smoking marijuana... made him get out of his car and then told him to smash his pipe on the ground... I love doing that. Muwhahahahaa!!!
^ All that excitement takes up about 19 hours of my day... so now I get to go to sleep and then wake up in the morning and do it all over again... yay :-P
BTW~ I really hate running. :| |

| Wow... |
[Sep. 19th, 2004|11:07 pm] |
It has almost been a year since I have updated this. I got something in an e-mail saying it would be closed if not used.
Anyways… I wonder if anyone reads these?
Well, in updating from my last Journal entry… I saw Matrix Revolutions… loved it… and had my Neo coat finished in time. I didn’t wear it to Comic Con though.
I’ve mostly been working and going to school. I changed my major from Media Communications to Administrative of Justice. Now it’s like starting all over again. But no worries… I love my classes. Best ones are Defense Tactics and Firearms. Defense Tactics is pretty easy… the Instructor picked up that I have some experience in it… yeah… more than 11 years :-P. Firearms class is really fun too. Although there are constant jokes about my name… I’m used to it. I’m at the top of my class. Still have not shot anything but 120 out of 120 :) I can live with that.
Work is going extremely well. I have been promoted many times and now my attempting to get the Assistant Director of Security position that will be opening soon. This is my first job where I actually look forward to going to work. Not many people say that about their job.
I have very little free time this semester. I still make it to the new movies every week and am able to keep up a pretty decent DVD collection. I am excited about the new Star Wars DVD set coming out Tuesday! It’s going to be awesome. A friend of mine in LA already has it. I went up to his place yesterday as he was having a Star Wars get to gather and we viewed a lot of cool and rare footage. I only stayed until 10:45 PM as it is more than 2 hrs. back to SD. It was a lot of fun talking with Star Wars fans again. I really haven’t been able to share my Star Wars enthusiasm with anyone lately as I rarely have free time. I hear Greally want to see THX 1138 at the Irvine Spectrum before it leaves but need to find someone that would be interested in seeing it. I’ve never seen it so it would be really cool if I was able to see it on the big screen for my first time.
Well, now then... I don't have to update for another year :-p |

| | bouncy | ] | I GOT MY TICS FOR MATRIX REVOLUTIONS!!!! :D WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
It’s for the 6am showing. They are NOT having a midnight showing (wtf????) Apparently ALL theatres are releasing the movie simultaneously so San Diego’s first showing will be at 6am. At least that’s my day off :-P. I’m probably going to get in line around 2am.
So what costume should I wear???? Agent or Neo???? Agent I have already done… but Neo… after all, I am the Chosen One ;-). Plus I haven’t worn my Neo costume yet L
Either way, this movie is going to be the BEST!
I saw the trailer for it again today… when I saw Kill Bill. It (Kill Bill) was a terrific film, but defiantly NOT for someone with a weak stomach. There was a TON of violence/death/gore in it. The sword fighting was AWESOME!!!! The story was excellent. But I think all the violence will scare people away. Many people I know said it was funny???????? I have no idea what they are talking about. There was absolutely NOTHING funny in this movie! These are probably the same people who enjoy gory video games where the only goal is to kill people. As many people know, I have a sorta sick-twisted humor, but there was nothing to laugh about in Kill Bill. I was soooo mad when it ended… now I have to wait until Feb. to see Vol. 2 L
Back to reality….
…duh…it’s boring…. Let’s talk about movies :-P
All I’ve been doing is work, school, work, work, and, oh yeah, work :-P
…movies are more fun. :D :-P |

After we were all done playing and cleaning the equipment, Brandon touched the trigger of his FULLY AUTOMATIC gun. I was standing less than 2 feet away... GUESS WHAT HAPPENED!?!?!?!?!???
...Yes... I was shot 3 times in the face... with no mask on! OUCH!!! First one hit above my lip, second one right below my eye, and third one right above it. My eye is like blood shot or something. Most of the guys playing thought I was faking it and that only C02 was coming out... yeah, right. :-P I grapped my face and could feel something that I *thought* was my eye... luckly it was only part of the broken paintball. My face was covered in blue paint. After water was poured all over my face, we had a pretty good laugh about the whole thing.
*notes to self: never trust Brandon with an automatic pb gun w/o a cork in it...heck...don't trust him at all* :-P |
